Mission

The mission of the Virtual School Library is to assist members of the elementary learning community: in locating and critically evaluating information; in fostering a love of reading by assisting in the selection of quality literature; and in encouraging lifelong learning by supporting independent inquiry.

Goals

The Virtual School Library will provide efficient access to quality, authoritative, grade-level appropriate information; serve as an instructional tool by guiding research; and will help match readers to books by providing access to book selection tools.

The Librarian

The Virtual School Library was created by Stephanie Bucalo, M.L.S., M.A., M.S. Ed., a New York teacher-librarian who enjoys helping youth, their parents and teachers find just-the-right book or information. Ms. Bucalo is also a Certified Humane Education Specialist.
